What's underneath me?

Here are some of the major activities and minor details in our wedding preps. Exciting! Countdown: 66 days to go!! Woohoo! πŸ™‚

July 25 – Application for marriage license in Las Pinas city hall

It’s a cute feeling filling up the form maybe because of putting your intention to marry a person on black and white. Also, all praises for the nice and accommodating staff of Las Pinas city hall. The process was a breeze and the office is clean and air-conditioned too. We got our license by August 5. πŸ™‚

Matching colored shirts pa! Kakahiya tuloy! Haha πŸ™‚

August 14 – Prototype of mold for chocolate monograms

This is a gift from Pao’s cousin. We’ll be giving away dark chocolates with our monograms. Cute, isn’t it? These are just the first trial on our chocolate making. Good thing we have more time to practice. Haha! πŸ™‚

August 17 – Canonical Interview at St.Francis Xavier Parish in Nasugbu, Batangas

We initially thought that the Parish Church was just near Caleruega but NO!! It’s still a 30km drive from Caleruega. My golly! A short trip to Tagaytay became a road trip to Nasugbu, Batangas. We need to be there by 730am but since we thought that it’s just in Caleruega then of course we arrived late. Good thing there are couples earlier than us. While waiting we were asked to fill-up a form with all these interrogating questions. So funny! It’s like being interrogated with a crime.Β  During the interview itself, we were also asked to raise our right hand and swear to tell nothing but the truth. Oh yes! Just like in the movies in a courtroom. Haha! πŸ™‚ But the priest who interviewed us was very jolly so we are laughing all throughout. πŸ™‚ But of course, there are still the serious part of priestly advices, promises to one another, and profession of love. It’s a good experience actually. πŸ™‚

This is one of the fun parts in the wedding preps. Food tasting!! We always grab the chance to join food tastings during our caterer selection since we are particular on our food for the wedding. We enjoy eating out so we want to serve the best food there is for our guests. Gladly! We found our non-negotiable. We booked them even before we have a reception venue. So our options for the venue were also affected since some has their in-house caterer or accredited caterers. We’re just so happy that they are still available on our date.

2011 August 12 – Second Food Tasting

Forgot to take pictures of Roast beef tenderloin with mashed potato cakes and creamed spinach, Brocolli and cheese soup, as well as all the dessert. We had FlambΓ©ed mangoes with vanilla ice cream, Panna cotta with strawberry, Banoffee, and White chocolate cake.

We’re really having a hard time choosing the final ones. Anyways, they’re all good! So expect great food on our big day! So excited! πŸ™‚

We love Antonio’s! πŸ™‚

This is just our second time to eat there. ButΒ  for both times, we really rave the food we are eating. First time we ate there was back in 2009, Dec 23 to be exact. We’re celebrating our 69th monthsary and pre-christmas date back then. Here are some of the pictures. Pardon on the name of the food. I can’t remember anymore. Haha! πŸ™‚

On our way up

Still has my braces on

The best fresh dalandan juice we’ve tasted and it’s unlimited! πŸ™‚

Everything on the left was my order while the right was Pao’s except for the salad and soup since we had the same order. πŸ™‚

Flowers for me!!! πŸ™‚

Next dine in was just last Tuesday, August 9. We had a schedule with our soon to be officiating priest in Caleruega and so weΒ  decided to try Antonio’s again before our scheduled appointment. It was love the second time around. Overly excited, we ordered a lot! That’s the gluttony part. Tsk tsk! But at least we got to take home some food to eat for dinner and as pasalubong as well.

Our favorite dalandan juice! But it’s not unlimited anymore. 😦 With that, we had two carafes (P315 each) because of that! What an expensive drink!

Pao’s all time favorite food! Can’t believe even in Antonio’s he decided to have Tapsilog (P390)! Haha! πŸ™‚

I had Portobello Pasta (P495). Super yummy! πŸ™‚

Pizza Beef Masso (P460) to share

On our way to Caleruega: Not contented with sightseeing, he needs to take a picture daw πŸ™‚

I miss my blog!! So busy these past few months so need to catch up big time.

Let’s start with one important event in our boyfriend-girlfriend relationship. We just celebrated our 100th monthsary last July 23, 2011. I know right? Centennial love affair na! How time really flies! (one of the most gasgas line ever. haha!) πŸ™‚

We started our day by having lunch at my place together with my family. Simple heartily lunch. Forgot what we ate. na. Haha! Then we feast on the most yummy cupcakes I’ve ever tasted. Yes! Super yummy because Pao made it especially for me. Haha! Cheesiness aside, I really love his red velvet cupcakes. Although he wasn’t able to make the icing fluffy as the normal cupcake, but the taste is indeed the best I’ve ever had. I’m not really a fan of vanilla lemon cupcakes but I was able to eat a lot of the ones he made. I still like better the red velvet cupcakes but his presentation on the vanilla lemon is the cutest. πŸ™‚

Aren’t they the cutest? Anyways, off we are to Greenhills for a well deserved massage. One of our favorite past times. We had the ‘Heaven Signature Massage’ in Tian Di Urban Spa. Beautiful interiors! Great Service! Excellent Massage! They also have a restaurant. If only we know they had one then we should have had our lunch there.

Then window shopping in Greenhills shopping center to kill time.

Dinner time! We really wanted to try Escolta at Manila Peninsula since its positioned with the likes of Circles and Spirals. Finally! Yey! Good thing we called for reservation since it’s full house. Selections are not as wide as Cirlces and Spirals but they boast their quality over quantity ideology. I think I tried around 80% of their food. I love eating! Haha! πŸ™‚ Here’s some of my plates I got to take pictures. Most of them I missed because of excitement. Sayang! 😦

Here is another w@w find. I tried to do our monograms but to no avail so we finally got the services of Joy (w@wie). We just gave our pegs and concept. She did this fast! Amazing! I personally requested for the compass to match our adventure concept. I’m just so happy to see some details of our wedding slowly coming into place. Here’s the initial monograms she made. This is still open for comments and revisions. πŸ™‚

Initial monogram 1Initial monogram 2Initial monogram 3Initial monogram 4

Then we requested to change the colors into lighter shades of orange and brown for our top 2 picks for the monogram. Here’s the output.

Revised monogram 1

Revised monogram 2

After which, we requested to tweak some details on our names for the top pick monogram. So we asked Joy if she can include our nicknames Pao and Rache as well as our full names Paolo and Rachelle. My parents wanted the one with full names but Pao and I wanted the initials only. Still can’t decide on the final one. Thanks again Sis Joy for the wonderful monograms and for being patient with my requests. More power to you and your business. πŸ™‚

One of the smartest things I did during this preps is to join weddings @ work yahoogroups as advised by my dear friend Ms.Boots who will also become our Ninang in the wedding. I indeed learn a lot from the group. From the cost saving tips, good and bad reviews of suppliers, perks and freebies, pressure absorber, but most importantly the friendships. πŸ™‚

One of the freebies we got from the group is when Anna offered to do free couple cartoons which can be used for Save the Dates, Invitations, Escort cards, etc. I immediately PM-ed her and fortunately I got a slot. So we just gave the concept of our wedding and a backgrounder on us couple.  We’re an adventurous and outdoor couple as in thrill seekers. Surfing, Rafting, Ultralight planes, Bungy Jumping, Reverse Bungy, Caving for 8hours straight, Rappelling, Hiking, etc we did it. Grabe! the list goes on. Next on our list will be sky diving but need to save up first for the wedding. So maybe for the honeymoon. Haha!! πŸ™‚ So with that, we really wanted to have an outdoor wedding. We initially wanted a venue close to nature like at the foot of a mountain or at the opening of a cave but we thought it may be difficult for the guests. So we opted to have a Tagaytay wedding this October. We’ll still plug-in our adventure concepts in the wedding and this is one of them. Anna truly executed the concept. She’s very keen on the details we discussed. Thanks again for generously sharing your talent. Here’s what she made for us. πŸ™‚

We are just going to give cloths and neck ties to our principal sponsors so they can express their individuality but at the same time there will still be uniformity among them. Plus the fact, that it will also help us lessen our expenses. So since we are only giving them cloths, I’m thinking on how we can package it nicely. It will be off if we’ll just give it in a plastic or a paper bag from some store. So I checked out possible gift wrap items that will look classy but not cost us much. Gladly, I found individual items that I think will look good together. So here it is. πŸ™‚

Materials needed: Box (I chose the gold cover), onion paper, ribbons, tape, and scissors

The onion paper adds a class into it. It’s like receiving a gift from Rustan’s. πŸ™‚ Still need to practice though on the folding. This is my first try. Please bear with me. Haha! πŸ™‚

Weekends are love! It’s a pigout weekend for me and the family. Three lovely restaurants to feast on. πŸ™‚

After the check up of my brother in Asian Hospital, we decided to eat in Melo’s located in Westgate, Alabang. My mom and brother have been craving for steaks. So Melo’s is one of the top choices we have for good steaks. They did not fail to give us a satisfying meal. Perfectly cooked steaks + hot soft bread with butter + creamy soup (don’t know what exactly it is) + healthy salad + hearty pasta = good times. Icing on the cake is their superb service. Waiters are knowledgeable on the food plus attentive to our needs.

Pictures to follow!

Sunday is family day. I spent my day with two families. My real family (Red) and my soon to be family (Reyes). Reyes(es) fetched me around 11am and went to the famous Estero in Binondo. We ordered a lot. Two of these, large serving of this, medium for this, etc.

With Rap

With Al and Bry

With Paopao

All of that only costs P1,395. Indeed, well spent bucks for big eaters like us. Next, we checked for desserts. I want buchi, Rap wants korean ice cream, Al wants siopao, and Pao and Bryan wants siomai. I know! Siopao and siomai don’t seem to fall in the dessert menu. Haha!! πŸ™‚ I got my buchi in Salazar bakeshop. Not the buchi I want. The filling is Iimited and not the creamy type. I only ate a piece then just give it away. Pao and Bry found their siomai in Wa Ying (don’t know if I got this right! haha! ). Rap got his korean ice cream so do we (Bryan, Al and me). Yummy!! πŸ™‚ Al failed to find siopao since their dad is already tired from walking through Binondo streets.

On our way to SM MOA

Next, we watched Source Code starred by Jake Gyllenhaal and Michelle Monaghan in SM Mall of Asia. Nice movie! It’s somehow a bit confusing especially towards the end. Glad I have Pao to clarify some things. He’ll be happy to see this since I won’t admit to him that I didn’t get it at once. Haha!! πŸ™‚ By the way, there are crowds of people in the mall because of the sale. Terrible!! I even got a joke from his dad.

Basil: There are many people because the place is watery!

Me: What?? Watery?? (silently saying in my mind)

After few seconds, Ahhhhhhhh!! Haha!! πŸ™‚ I realized that it was a joke. Watery means β€œToo Big”. Now you know where Pao got his corny antics. Haha!! πŸ™‚

They drove me off to Hyatt Hotel, Manila. My Dad, Mom, and brother are already waiting at the lounge. So off to Market Cafe located in the 3rd floor of Hyatt Hotel. Buffet means pigging out. Haha! πŸ™‚

My well spent weekend with family and Pao! Nothing compares! πŸ™‚

Today is a happy day!! I planned something for him. I hope he will like it! So excited for the day! I’ll share all the details later. I still need to wrap something. Haha! πŸ™‚

So here’s what transpired during Pao’s birthday:

I fetched him after lunch then headed to Greenbelt3. We watched Limitless starred by Bradley Cooper, Robert De Niro and Abbie Cornish. We loved the movie. How we wish we have this drug available in the market. I’m sure it will be out of stock as soon as it was launched. I hope someone will invent this soon but of course less the scary side effects. Haha! πŸ™‚

After which, birthday dinner in The Establishment at Fort Bonifacio Global City. We actually had a hard time looking for the place. After going back and forth along 25th-28th street, it was just located at the The Fort Strip. We actually passed by it a couple of times already. But missed it because the name of the restaurant is not visible to passersby.

We got their Anniversary Degustation of 14 Signature Dishes. Here’s a feast for your eyes. πŸ™‚

The Establishment Signature Dishes

Very classy ambiance

They serve complimentary bread with butter and pesto dip. No picture since we are too hungry after getting lost. πŸ™‚

We love Italian food!! My personal favorites are Shakeys and California Pizza Kitchen. Yum yum!! πŸ™‚ But this one will share the spot too. Mona Lisa Ristorante has just recently opened I think just late last year but I think if i remembered correctly I have eaten here for 5 times already. So here’s a glimpse of their menu.

Bread with pesto, butter and tomato salsa dip

Pappa al Pomodoro (P180) – A delicious fresh tomatoes with herbs, bake and blended with balsamic vinegar with croutonsCrema di Spinaci (P200) – Fresh spinach and creamy sauceMiguelito Speciale (P640) – Tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, artichokes, sundried tomatoes, slice salami, slice parma ham and herbs and Miguelli Calabrese (P750) – Cream sauce, mozzarella cheese, italian sausage with porcini mushroom and herbs

We ordered half Miguelito Speciale and Miguelli Calabrese. The higher price will prevail. I like Miguelli better but Pao and mom like otherwise. Oh well! Haha! πŸ™‚

Aragula leaves and Alfalfa (I remembered Little Rascals! One of my favorite movies of all time! πŸ™‚ )Rolled Panizze of Pao. Mine is too messy for picture purposes. Haha!

Grilled Salcicia Rigatoni Funghi (P575) – Grilled Italian sausage, together with funghi porcini sauce mixed with black truffle oil garnished with Italian parsley

We all loved the pasta. Big chunks of sausages and super tasty sauce. Yummy!! Unfortunately, it’s just their special for the month. I hope they’ll make that as one of their staple pasta offerings.

Me with mom πŸ™‚Ayaw magpapicture! First take – failed! After Frutti Froyo, try again – success!! πŸ™‚
